UK Plans to Defer Capital-Gains Tax on DeFi Loans and Liquidity Pools

HM Revenue & Customs published draft rules that would treat qualifying crypto lending, borrowing and automated-market-maker transactions on a no-gain/no-loss basis, deferring capital-gains tax until an economic disposal. The measure is scheduled to take effect April 6, 2027 and HMRC estimates roughly 700,000 individuals could be affected. Final fiscal costing remains pending.
