Bitcoin’s U.S. Institutional Bid Weakens as ETF Flows Turn Negative

Bitcoin traded near $63,000 while Coinbase’s Bitcoin Premium Index remained negative for a record 60 consecutive days, a signal associated with weaker U.S. demand. The Block reported that U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs lost $4.4 billion in June and ended the first half of 2026 with $5.4 billion in net outflows, their first negative half-year since launch. July 16 produced $79.15 million of daily inflows, but the week remained short of breakeven after a $424 million Monday outflow.
