Netflix’s $587 Million InterPositive Purchase Reveals the Price of Its Production-AI Strategy

New reporting identified the previously unnamed business that Netflix acquired for approximately $587 million in cash in March as InterPositive, Ben Affleck’s 16-person filmmaking-AI startup. Netflix’s SEC filing independently confirms the cash purchase price but does not identify the target. Variety reports that Affleck became a senior adviser and that the acquired tools support post-production work including relighting, mixing and visual effects. Netflix said during Q2 earnings that roughly 300 titles had used some form of generative AI in 2026.
