Zcash Ships Zakura Node as First Step Toward Payment-Network-Scale Privacy

Developers associated with Zcash have released Zakura v1.0.0, a pruned node derived from Zebra that reportedly syncs in under two minutes, uses roughly 11 GB of disk and provides compatibility for services migrating from the retired zcashd software. Its larger roadmap targets at least 50,000 private transactions per second through recursive proofs and private-information-retrieval research. That throughput is a design target, not a demonstrated benchmark.
