AMC Posts Record $1.59B Quarter, but Its Net Loss Widens
AMC Entertainment reported second-quarter revenue of approximately $1.59 billion, up 14% from $1.39 billion a year earlier and the highest quarterly revenue in its 106-year history. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $320.6 million from $189.2 million, also a company record, but net loss widened to $11.4 million from $4.7 million. The results demonstrate the theater chain’s substantial operating leverage during a box-office recovery while showing that record attendance economics still did not produce GAAP profitability.
